George Rode

President and Owner

George has been working on cars since 1970. He found in high school that he had unsurpassed mechanical skills with electric devices. After graduating from high school, he went through two years of college, financing it by working on cars in his home garage. He then got a job at a Subaru, American Motors dealer and quickly moved up to the head technician position. He excelled at the technical schools and was very well respected at the Subaru School . He took and passed all 8 of the nationally certified ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) tests becoming a master technician in 1973. He has taken advanced training at Bosch and has done extensive factory training. Having owned EuroAsian Automotive since 1975, he bought Autohaus in May 2003 because of his passion for business and auto repair.

George enjoys playing with his dog, Sheba, who goes almost everywhere with him, traveling, RVing, gardening, home improvement, cooking, home automation and playing tennis with his wife, Janice. He is very active in Rotary as president nomimee, Eugene Chamber of Commerce, he is a counselor with S.C.O.R.E  He is the president of McKenzie Personnel and treasurer of GreenLane Sustainable Business Network. Both are nonprofit organizations. He has been on the board of the American Cancer Society, Woman Space, Nextstep Recycling and the budget committee of LTD. He is the president of the Automotive Board at Lane Community College along with being one of 6 Bosch Service Council members in the US.

 

Brian Whitmore

Co-owner and Shop Foreman

George and Brian met in 1979 while competing on the same team in the Baja 1000 off-road race. They finished 4th in class, 18th overall. Brian was born in Eugene, graduated with honors and VIP of the varsity football team in 1977. Brian joined Euro-Asian as an apprentice in December of 1979, first job was to pressure wash and paint the ceiling of the shop during a cold December day. Brian has a special interest in automotive electronics, Scan tools and trouble shooting problem cars. He has completed all available training offered by Bosch, that being over 7 weeks in classes, numerous factory classes with Saab, day long classes for Mercedes and BMW, other evening classes and two weeks of electronics training in Houston. A nationally certified ASE master and advanced level automotive technician, he's our ace sleuth at figuring out difficult diagnoses. As shop foreman and co-owner, Brian has a vested interest in quality and customer satisfaction.

Brian enjoys working out, off and on road bicycling, wood working, watching sports and enjoying the outdoors. He and his wife enjoy spending time outdoor cross-country skiing, bicycling and just being together. They support big brother-big sister program.

 

Dan Wise

General Manager

Dan was born in Long Beach CA, moving here to Eugene when he was 3. His family leaved in Eugene, and then moved out to Peaceful Valley outside of Eugene when he was 5. He grew up around cars and farm equipment, helping neighbors fix their mechanical stuff. He graduated from Churchill High School in 1984 with honors. He enjoyed having a motorcycle at the age of 9, driving around neighboring property and logging roads. He got his first car, a 1967 VW bug at the age of 19. Dan attended LCC for 2 years, and then went into the automotive parts business from 1988 to 1992. He came to work for Euro-Asian Automotive in 1992. As George got more and more out of day-to-day activities, Dan became General Manager in 1998. He is an ASE certified master import parts specialist. As general manager, he makes sure the office runs smoothly, and handles service writing and parts ordering.

He enjoys home improvement, working on his rock climbing Suzuki Samurai, sand rail, and wooden boats from 8 to 37 feet. He also enjoys spending time with his daughter and wife camping, hiking and cooking.

 

Travis Minyard

Technician

Travis Minyard has lived in Lowell his whole life expect for a stay in Arizona where his attained his knowledge and love for cars. He has been with Euro Asian for seven years. Travis has a passion for vehicle service, he is ASE Certified. 

In his spare time Travis likes traveling to the coast to ride his four-wheeler and camp. Travis enjoys spending time with his 2 daughters, playing and watching them grow up. He also tries to fit some seasonal hunting in every year.

 

Aren Jenkins

Technician

Aren was born and raised in Southeast Alaska where he has been working on cars since early grade school.  He moved to Eugene in 2007 with the two loves in his life, girlfriend, Natalia and his dog Pukalani.  Aren enjoys off road and rally racing and is currently building his own rally car.

Aren is an ASE certified Master technician specializing in German vehicles.

 

Cynthia Kallunki

Office manger and Customer Service

Cynthia first came to Euro-Asian at the age of 5 in 1981. Her mother was the bookkeeper at EuroAsian Automotive (European Auto Repair then) while going to school at LCC and then U of O. She moved to California in 1985, graduated from high school there and then worked managing retail shops and was an office manager for an insurance broker. She moved back to Eugene in 2003 to go to work at Autohaus and EuroAsian Automotive and attend school. She went to school full time until the spring of 2007, when she graduated from LCC with an Associates degree in accounting. She loves dealing with customers and making sure the flow of both shops goes well.

Cynthia enjoys working on her house with her husband, Nick, playing with her four nephews and two nieces, taking pictures, attending car shows, spending time with her family, helping Papa (that's George) with projects while learning all she can about being a homeowner and watching movies.

George got the privilege of giving her away at her wedding in August of 2007! George and Janice had the wedding at their house, providing the beautiful landscape, sound system and food for 85 people; it was NOT catered.

 

Sheba Rode

Sheba is my 3rd standard poodle; She was born January 29, 2007.

She loves to play catch with tennis balls, go traveling with us in our motor home and just burn off her puppy energy. She may be shy the first time you meet her, but she will warm up quickly.
